My sophomore CD, “Whose Shadow?” was launched Sunday March 30 to a full house at Toronto’s elegant Jazz Bistro, in a concert featuring the album’s producer and bass player, George Koller, pianist Mark Kieswetter and John Johnson on tenor and soprano saxophones, bass clarinet and flute.
It’s been three years since George and I planted the first seeds over expressos in Leslieville!

“Whose Shadow?” is an eclectic and enchanting album about metamorphosis and influence, and the conscious and unconscious shaping of an artist. Several short excerpts of songs have uploaded to my website.
Our first follow up concert is taking place tomorrow evening, April 5: I am very excited to have my debut both in Guelph, Ontario and at the Manhattans jazz club, with my trio: including Ted Quinlan, guitar and George Koller, bass. We will be performing music from the new album, along with songs from the Great American Songbook, Ralph Towner and more!
I am also thrilled to be returning this month, to The Old Mill Home Smith Jazz Bar April 25, with Ted Quinlan and bassist Jim Vivian.

Produced by multi-instrumentalist and producer George Koller (Holly Cole, Bruce Cockburn, Loreena McKennitt), the album features my original compositions, along with more traditional jazz fare, jazz arrangements of classical music – Maurice Ravel and Henry Purcell, art pop – Peter Gabriel, Joni Mitchell, Kate Bush and more…
Along with my vocals, compositions and co-arrangements, there are beautiful performances from many of Canada’s finest jazz musicians: Mark Kieswetter– piano, rhodes and arrangements, George Koller– acoustic and electric bass, Ted Quinlan– guitar, Nick Fraser– drums, John Johnson– tenor and soprano sax, flute and bass clarinet, Lina Allemano– trumpet, Ernie Tollar– bansuri Flute and Davide DiRenzo-percussion.
The album was recorded by Grammy nominated engineer Jeremy Darby at The Canterbury Music Company, and was mastered by the award-winning David Travers-Smith. Stanley Péan, Novelist and Host of Quand le jazz est là (Radio Canada, Espace Musique), has written the bilingual liner notes.
