“Whose Shadow?” Starts Receiving Wonderful Press
Reviews of my sophomore album “Whose Shadow?” (released March 30) are just beginning to come in (and regularly updated on my Press page). I was floored to receive a truly remarkable review (also the first from the USA!) from Everett. R. Davis at All About Jazz:
“She has emerged from the Canadian scene with a spellbinding voice…with boldly unique style and a vocal attitude of her own. With exceptional tonal control and her mastery of inflection, Lara Solnicki has without doubt, charted her vocal journey, affirming her position as a world class jazz singer.”

Ottawa Debut− Lara Solnicki and Roddy Ellias at GigSpace
October 25 marks my Ottawa debut, and my first performance with the wonderful guitarist and composer Roddy Ellias! Roddy and I will be performing a wide range of repertoire− Roddy’s compositions, jazz arrangements of Maurice Ravel, and Henry Purcell…Ralph Towner, The Great American Songbook and music from “Whose Shadow?”.
…Our show is happening at the intimate GigSpace− a favourite venue among musicians.
Just Announced: The Montreal “Whose Shadow?” CD Release Concert
Montreal is arguably one of the most beautiful cities in the world, and as some say my “home away from home”.
The Montreal “Whose Shadow?” CD Release Concert has just been set for Saturday November 29 at Bleury Bar à Vinyle, in a concert featuring Roddy Ellias, guitar and Adrian Vedady, bass. We will most certainly include some new favourites from the Ottawa performance!
Seeds of a New Trio: Lara Solnicki, Brian Katz and George Koller
Last but certainly not least: October 19 I am joined by the one and only, great guitarist and composer Brian Katz, along with irreplaceable bassist George Koller, in a concert featuring Brian’s music, Ralph Towner, Jobim and The Great American Songbook.
What can I say, there’s magic in the air! And stars to follow….
